What I am looking for is to find the color that is the least visible so that the casual observer will have to be very close to the stand before they see it I think that this would also help keep my stands from being stolen because they will be harder to see. I know that at a certain distance, the stand will be visible, no matter what the color is. One season I had a fire engine red stand. I usually just paint them whatever color that I have. This usually consists of checking and replacing straps, lubricating locks, and sanding all the rusty spots off and repainting them. ![]() Every year, once season is out, I take them down and do some general maintenance on them. I hunt out of ladder stands and strap on stand's with stick ladders quite a bit.
